The Little Potato Company

The company was founded in 1996 by Jacob van der Schaaf and his daughter Angela Santiago, who is CEO and co-founder, and its own media page describes it as a family-owned business with no outside investor or parent named anywhere on the site. Corporations Canada's federal registry search returns no match for the company, indicating provincial incorporation, and Alberta's corporate registry has no free public search, so this rests on the vendor's own statements rather than a filing.

Potatoes are packed at the company's own plants in Edmonton, Alberta, its headquarters and the site of a newer, larger expansion, and in DeForest, Wisconsin, both confirmed by named plant staff on the careers page. The site discloses no volume or revenue split between the two plants, so the mix is an estimate weighted toward the Edmonton plant for what reaches Canadian shelves.

The company is headquartered at 915 36 Ave, Nisku, Alberta, in the Edmonton area, with named staff spanning production, shipping and quality assurance roles at both the Edmonton and DeForest, Wisconsin plants. No employee count by location is published, so the split is an estimate weighted toward the larger, headquarters-adjacent Edmonton operation.

The company's own farmer-profile page names highlighted growing partners only in Alberta and Wisconsin, though Canadian shelf supply is also understood to draw on growers in Manitoba, Ontario and PEI plus some US supply. None of this provincial or cross-border split is quantified on the site, so the mix is inferred and weighted toward Canadian-grown potatoes reaching Canadian shelves.
